McLaren Group

    Industrial Manufacturing

The McLaren Group was founded in 1963 by New Zealand racing driver, Bruce McLaren. Since 1966, when it entered its first Formula 1 race, McLaren has won over 180 Grand Prix – more than any other F1 team. McLaren is now globally renowned as one of the sport’s most successful competitors and as one of the world’s most illustrious high-technology brands.

The McLaren Group has grown to encompass much more than just racing: it houses a cutting-edge technology division – McLaren Applied Technologies – that services the entire Formula 1, Indy Car and NASCAR grids and at the same time, creates innovative solutions for different industries; while McLaren Automotive not only produced the 1990s’ original super car, the F1, but has gone on to launch the internationally acclaimed 12C and P1 high-performance luxury vehicles, establishing itself as a competitive manufacturer.

With over 3,400 employees, the Group is based at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, UK.
