Dr. Samer Aljishi is President of BFG International, a leading multi-national engineering and manufacturing group in the Composites Sector that provides integrated highly engineered products to clients within the rail, automotive, wind energy, architectural, construction, and waste treatment industries.

A senior executive with more than 30 years of global experience across multiple sectors and industries, Samer holds Board and Committee positions at various organisations. Prior to BFG, Samer served as Industrial Advisor to the Ministry of Industry, Bahrain where he was instrumental in the development of Bahrain’s industrial sector.

A distinguished member of the academia, Samer has served as a Humboldt Research Scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Physics, where he conducted research on the science of amorphous silicon-based semiconductor alloys. In addition, he has authored over 60 refereed articles and papers within the fields of applied Solid-State Physics and materials science.

Samer holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering & Solid State Physics and a MEng & MA in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Electric Power Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

In recognition of his achievements and contributions, Samer was presented with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Medal of Merit in 2008.
